Stardom Floribunds grow exceptionally well in 8" or larger pots, where their spreading mounding growth habit and heavy flower production can be shown off to their best advantage. Stardom Geraniums are extremely economical to produce because they grow rapidly and don't require pinching or growth regulators. Six-inch pots grown from rooted cuttings can be ready for sale in six to seven weeks, and 10" baskets can be ready in eight to ten weeks.
Light:
High light levels of 3,500-4,500 f.c. are required throughout much of the growing cycle. Plants indicate a need for less light by a reddening of their petioles and stems. Mature plants in the landscape are well adapted to full sun.
Media/pH:
The diploid nature of Floribundas make them sensitive to low pH. Media pH must be maintained between 6.2 and 6.5. Iron-manganese toxicity occurs at a lower pH and can be identified by chlorotic speckling on older leaves, interveinal chlorosis, or marginal necrosis of the leaves.
Fertilizer:
A constant-feed fertilizer program of 15-15-15 or 15-0-15 at 250 ppm N should be used in the greenhouse.
Temperature:
Bottom heat during the first week after receipt is critical to success. Minimum night temperature of 65ºF should be maintained, and venting during the day should only occur above 76ºF.
